Two factor authentication, also called two step verification, is an optional security feature that can be enabled on Viadesk domains.

How does two factor authentication work?

When two factor authentication is enabled, the login procedure is extended with a second verification step:

  1. First, the user logs in with their unique username and password.
  2. Next, the user is redirected to a second login screen. Here, they can provide the authentication code that is sent to their mobile phone.

This is similar to the two step verification that is used for online banking.
