Update August 2010

On Wednesday 4 August the improved Viadesk will be available for your environment. The most important new feature is the more extensive possibility to use metadata. This feature makes it easier to find information and experts. Topics wil still be available, but the new metadata is broader applicable and more flexible. You can expanse the metadata and make it more profound. In short: a new feature which makes it easier for users to find relevant information and colleagues. Read more on labels.

Other improvements

The options to respond to a question are extended. You can respond by uploading a document, or adding a poll or task. The possibility of asking an expert or mark a response as an answer remains the same.

User management is now easier:

  • Add users manually in a more simple way via Setup > Users > Add. A direct link to this screen is added on Home.
  • Do you want to add existing users to a new group? In the new version of Viadesk, you can easily export users of an existing group in an Excel file and import this file to a new group. With the Excel file you can add a large number of people to a new group. You can do this via Setup > Users > Add.
  • New users can choose their own password. If you are a new user, you receive an e-mail, with a hyperlink which directs you to a page where you can create your own, safe password. Much more user-friendly then the difficult password new users received before!
  • Set for a selection of users group membership via the new button on Setup > Users.

There are two name changes: Notes is renamed in Text. Abc is renamed to Tags.
