Update September 2012
On Wednesday 19 September 2012 a new Viadesk version will be made available. With this update we provide more social tools inside Viadesk, add straightforward CRM capabilities and offer an infrastructure through which you can connect your Viadesk environment to your own systems and applications.
Newsfeed available inside groups
The newsfeed feature is now available within groups. This offers group managers a new possibility to enable further collaboration and interactions within groups. The newsfeed offers members the possibility to directly post updates or respond to documents and discussions in groups. Per group, the newsfeed can be enabled via Management > Startpage: tab Item order.
Filter newsfeed items
The newsfeed has been enhanced with a filter function. This allows users to quickly find certain types of contributions, for example all discussions or documents.
The visual display of the newsfeed can be modified through a new option, editable only by webmasters and group managers. You can adjust the newsfeed display preference at Management > Startpage > tab: View options.
The design of the address card in Contacts has received a visual refresh. Contact details are now better scannable, so you can retrieve that important phone number even quicker. Per contact you can now add updates and tasks about:
- when your last appointment occurred,
- which projects were discussed, and
- what follow-up tasks were assigned.
On 19 september the first version of the Viadesk API (Application Program Interface) becomes available. This allows you to connect your Viadesk environment to your office systems and applications. The API is immediately available to Enterprise customers.
Are you using both Viadesk and SharePoint? Then we have some great news. In a few weeks the Viadesk SharePoint web part will be made available. This will allow you to integrate your Viadesk environment with your SharePoint intranet, enabling faster collaboration and knowledge sharing across both systems.
Just like the API the SharePoint web part is included with a Viadesk Enterprise subscription.
- The label of the preference that allows users to subscribe to notifications has been clarified by changing it from ‘Follow’ to ‘Receive notifications’.
- Bug fix: in email notifications, the latest replies are now displayed correctly.
